Laura, I haven't seen or heard from you in awhile. I bet you are swamped right now.
I know you probably have your entire art program determined for the year, yet I thought you might want to know about a really cool project that integrates art and cultural exchange with curricular areas, including science, social studies and language arts.
You may already know about this project, but I love to share this information with creative people.
Each Winter, for many years, Journey North Scientists who research the Monarch butterfly Migration in Mexico, take VIRTUAL Monarchs, made by students(K-8) in the USA, to the children of the region where they research and to the Children's Science Museum in Mexico City. The kids who receive a Virtual Monarch, keep it, and return it in the early Spring. MOST are returned to the USA.

Fantastic weaving. I grew up in New Mexico, and I know some about your area. I love the desert. My family and I have traveled to Clovis to see the Blackwater Draw Museum and dig site.
